So you switched to diet soda to avoid all the calories and sugar. Good move, right? Maybe not, according to a new study.
It followed 2,500 New Yorkers for nine years and found those that had a diet soda every day had a 61 percent higher risk of vascular events including heart attack or stroke.
Holy Diet-Rite Batman!
Now the researchers really have no idea WHY diet soda would cause that kind of risk, and say more study is needed. You can read more about the study here.
This kind of news could drive a person to drink. But what?
Alcohol is okay..but only if it's red wine or dark beer. And one a day or you're a binge drinker.
Milk has lots of protein and calcium, but some people say it should be raw milk. And hormones can be a concern. (Although you can get bovine growth hormone-free milk in Wisconsin.)
Water, then? Perfect! I'll go pick up a bottle of water right now. But then the bottle will end up in a landfill. That's no good. So tap water? Uh..there have been problems there too.
I guess coffee is okay..but leave out the cream and sugar. Or green tea...I don't think they've said anything bad about green tea yet.
But where can I find green tea that tastes like Diet Mountain Dew?
