Here are three ways to have a memorable Valentine’s Day without breaking the bank.
Get take out. That overpriced bottle of wine and tiny appetizers can wear your checkbook out. Instead of spending your cash at an overblown ‘fancy’ restaurant, why not pick up your favorite take out on the way home from work? You’re guaranteed to love the food, and don’t have to make a reservation. If your heart is set on that special place out opt for a drink and dessert instead of a full meal there, that way you get the candlelight and music without the huge expense.
Make a thoughtful gift. What says “I love you” more than spending the time to make something to show you care? Make a card, batch of heart shaped cookies, or a playlist with songs that remind you of your relationship.
Think twice about those cut flowers. If you’re sure that special someone won’t be devastated, spend your cash on something other than that bouquet. They eventually die anyway and then what are you left with? This is probably not a great metaphor for a relationship.
