Cabin Fever Cures For Kids

It’s almost here; we can feel it in the air.  The winter wind begins to calm, and the snow begins to melt, but you still find your family stuck inside.  Pass the time and exercise with these ideas.


Lifting spirits can be as simple as using up some of that extra energy.  It’s tough to get outside sometimes, but that shouldn’t stop you from playing basketball.  Try cardboard-box basketball.  Place a few open boxes at one end of the room and mark a throw line with a rolled-up blanket at the other end. See who can get the most balls or beanbags in the boxes. Move the throw line farther back for older kids.

Swim a couple of laps.  You may not have an indoor pool, but you probably have a bathtub.  Let your kids get their suits on and splash around a little without the soap. 

Indoor roller rink!  Take the cars out of the garage and get out those roller skates!  Play some funky music and have some fun.
