It's the little things that add up when it comes to weight loss. Try just one new thing every day to make a big difference.
Sunday: Shoot it, and shed pounds.
Studies show that recording your meals may help you lose up to 5 percent of your weight. Let technology work for you. Snap before and after photos of each meal with your camera phone. Keeping this visual diary is a more accurate way to see what and how much you are eating.
Monday: Pop a vitamin to kill hunger.
Taking a daily multivitamin may may make you less hungry. Studies show that people who take one tend to weigh less and have lower BMIs. Find a vitamin with at least 100 percent of: chromium, copper, folic acid, iodine, manganese, molybdenum, niacin, pantothenic acid, riboflavin, thiamin, vitamins B6 and B12, and zinc.
Tuesday: Speed up to burn calories.
Strength-training circuit-style burns calories more than the traditional way. The shorter the rest period between sets, the more calories you burn off. Try turning your strength-training routine into a circuit by doing 1 set of 15 reps for each exercise with no rest in between; wait 20 seconds and repeat the circuit twice.
Wednesday: Triple your C to burn more fat.
Consuming 500 milligrams or more of Vitamin C on a regular basis may help you burn 30 percent more fat while working out. Eating vitamin C-rich, whole foods like citrus fruits, broccoli, and cantaloupe can help you with this.
Thursday: Have a gab session and drop pounds faster.
An exercise buddy can help you show up for workouts and melt your fat away faster. Create your own weight-loss network. Turn someone you're already friends with into your work out buddy meeting at least once a week to discuss obstacles and celebrate successes.
Friday: Color yourself slim.
Fill up your diet with a range of fruits and vegetables to cut your calorie load. Follow the rainbow rule...eat from all the color groups during the day.
Saturday: Inhale and conquer cravings.
Stress often means looking for quick fix calories. Yogic breathing offsets this by relaxing you so you don't have as much hunger pain. People make better food choices when they are relaxed.
