Simple Ways To Encourage Others

Give a co-worker, family member or friend that extra jolt of positivity they may be lacking.

When someone around you is feeling down in the dumps there are ways to give meaningful encouragement that can make all the difference.

Showing genuine interest, letting people know that you care can be the most effective way to encourage others.  Ask questions to get them talking which can lead to positive action.  Acknowledging what's important to others, providing affirmation and validation can help the person with their confidence and self-esteem.

Sometimes saying simple things can be a positive way to encourage someone.  Nothing worth doing is ever easy.  Worthwhile things always take time and effort.  Simply saying "Well done" or "Congratulations" at the right time can mean the difference between "keep going" and "give up".  "Thank you" is also one of those magical phrases.  It lets others know what they have done is worthwhile and meaningful to you.

Positive actions, no matter how small, are meaningful ways to boost someone's spirit.  Offer to lend a hand, be proactive and show the person that if you're willing to commit your own time and energy in their interests.  They will be more committed to seeing it through and less likely to give up on themselves.
